Project Haiti

Hi!  My name is Valerie Libby and I am a first year medical student.  I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia.  I have three wonderful brothers.  I went to the University of Texas at Austin and majored in Psychology and Spanish.  I then received a Masters in Global Public Health from George Washington University Health Science Center.  I love traveling and have lived in Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain, and, most recently, Kenya.  In Kenya, I evaluated the impact of community-based health education on the community.  I really love helping people and I am really excited to be a part of this incredible team!  Thank you so much for your interest and support!

Valerie, So good to know another Valerie Libby trying to make the world a better place. My husband is the CEO of an orthopaedic medical practice that has sent docs and nurses to Haiti to assist with their great need. He grew up in The Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, our oldest daughter lived in Kenya for a while, and our youngest son is trying to get a volunteer position in Argentina. We have more connections than just a name. May the blessings be! Valerie

Wow! That is so interesting, Valerie! We do have a lot of connections! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this. I am now in my 4th year of medical school and hoping to pursue OB/GYN! Thanks for your response! Best, Valerie Libby
